“Winterfell is yours, your grace,” Sansa tells Dany, suggesting she has accepted the Mother of Dragons and Jon Snow’s new beau as her queen. On 6 January HBO released a trailer for all its big shows coming back this year, from Game of Thrones to True Detective and Big Little Lies.ĭuring that medley we got to see Sansa Stark welcoming Daenerys to her home in the North. Does this mean something has happened to the baby, if there ever was one in the first place?īefore the proper trailer we were given a few teasers, though they included the sum total of roughly seven seconds of footage from season 8 proper. Drinking is normal for Cersei of course, but at the end of season 7 she turned down a drink while talking with Tyrion because she was seemingly pregnant. The Queen, dressed in the lighter colours we’ve not seen her in since the early season, looks tearful and she goes to drink from a glass of wine. We get a passionate kiss between Grey Worm and Missandei, and Jaime reiterating the fact he intends to fight for the living, but the most intriguing scene involves his sister, Cersei. Surely Jon is going to ride Rhaegal in season 8? Other goosebump-inducing moments show Jon and Daenerys riding into battle together, and later approaching Drogon and Rhaegal north of the Wall. The trailer then confirms that Euron did indeed go to collect the Golden Company from Essos – we see them sailing back across the narrow see on Greyjoy ships – and also that Tormund and Beric Dondarrion are still alive. “I know death, he’s got many faces,” she says. We hear her speaking over the top of the scene, in a much calmer manner. Fans are speculating that it may be the raised Stark dead from the crypts of Winterfell. Nothing scares Arya these days, so whatever it is must be god damn terrifying.
